ROME, Ga. (December 7, 2017) – Renaissance Marquis’ dietary director, Mary Wilbanks, created an 8-foot gingerbread town to display for residents, staff and family members.

Wilbanks has created a large gingerbread masterpiece for Renaissance Marquis for the past five years. Each year has a different theme. This year’s theme is ‘The North Pole’.

The gingerbread house, complete with elves, reindeer, and Santa’s workshop, is a creative and fun replica of the North Pole.

“All of our residents look forward to this time of year to see what Mary is going to create, and she never disappoints! She works hard each year to think of a creative theme that our residents will love,” Blake Ray, executive director of Renaissance Marquis, said.

Wilbanks starts making the gingerbread in October and always has it displayed by Thanksgiving. “I never use a template. I have an idea in my head and I just start putting it together,” Wilbanks said.

“Stop by Renaissance Marquis and see the gingerbread town in person! You don’t want to miss seeing it this Christmas season,” Ray said.
