Renaissance Marquis Donates $12,000 to the 2015 North Georgia Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Proceeds were raised from 3rd Annual Charlie Hyde Alzheimer’s Awareness Golf Tournament, sponsored earlier this fall by Renaissance Marquis
ROME, Ga. (January 27, 2016) – Renaissance Marquis retirement community presented a check for $12,000 to the North Georgia Regional Office of the Alzheimer’s Association, in support of Rome’s 2015 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, held on Nov. 9.
Several hundred walkers participated in the event, held at the Rome Braves’ State Mutual Stadium.
The donation represents proceeds from the Third Annual Charlie Hyde Memorial for Alzheimer’s Awareness Golf Tournament and silent auction, sponsored by Renaissance Marquis earlier this fall.
“Renaissance Marquis and our parent company, Legacy Senior Services, are committed to supporting our local Alzheimer’s Association, and the national research they make possible,” said Jerry Justice, executive director of Renaissance Marquis. “Alzheimer’s and dementia are devastating illnesses, and we see first-hand the impact it has on families. We support the ongoing research to find a cure to this terrible disease, and as top memory care providers in Rome, GA, we would like nothing more than to be a part of finding a cure. This is our way of standing behind those who are on the front lines of research.”
“Since joining the Walk to End Alzheimer’s several years ago, the Renaissance Marquis team has raised over $40,000 to support the Alzheimer’s Association. It takes everyone if we are going to win the war against Alzheimer’s, and the staff at Renaissance Marquis is a great example of what it means to be part of that shared commitment,” says Robyn Matthews, director of events for the North Georgia District of the Alzheimer’s Association.
