Teepa Snow, a leading national educator on Alzheimer’s, and Liza Reed, a featured psychotherapist on TLC’s ‘Hoarding: Buried Alive,’ to headline the conference in Cartersville, Ga.
Renaissance Marquis, a premier assisted living community in Rome, Ga., will join other regional memory loss professionals at the 2015 Alzheimer’s Caregiver Conference on Thursday, April 30, at the Clarence Brown Conference Center, located at 5450 State Highway 20 in Cartersville.
The conference is offered in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association’s Dalton office, Georgia’s Aging and Disability Resource Center, and Renaissance Marquis, which operates The Harbor, a 24-unit Alzheimer’s care facility serving Rome, Ga., and Floyd County.
Teepa Snow, a leading educator on Alzheimer’s and dementia will serve as the conference’s keynote speaker, along with Liza Reed, previously seen on TLC’s Hoarding: Buried Alive television series as a featured psychotherapist.
“Our hope is to provide support and information to Alzheimer’s caregivers, giving them a valuable opportunity to connect with local memory care professionals,” says Ben Baker, marketing director at Renaissance Marquis.
“There will be a variety of service providers on hand at the conference to answer questions about resources in our community and discuss the importance of professional assistance to help loved ones with Alzheimer’s as well as their caregivers,” Baker says.
The one-day conference will begin at 9 a.m. and last until 4 p.m. Full-day admission is $25 for professionals, $15 for students and free for caregivers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of breakout sessions covering topics such as grief, legal needs and caregiver wellness.
Members of the Renaissance Marquis' caring staff will be available to answer questions about Alzheimer’s, dementia and other memory loss care.
